Fine-point black Sharpie marker
Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

Complete value chart with four different types of marks.

Fold a sheet of 18” x 24” white drawing paper into four sections and cut them apart.

Referring to the white object provided in class, make a contour drawing in pencil of the object on one of the section of paper and trace around your lines with a black marker.

Transfer the drawing into the remaining three sections. (Process to be demonstrated by instructor in class.)

Apply value to the other sections. One drawing remains the original contour drawing; the second drawing is shaded with blended marks using an ebony pencil; the third drawing is shaded with hatching and cross-hatching using black marker; and the fourth is shaded with scumbling marks using an ebony pencil.

The completed project will consist of four drawings.
